Safety of AG Herb MIX

Safety of AG Herb MIX

  1. Testing for residual agricultural chemicals
    1. Status confirmation in product
      Simultaneous analysis of 100 items
      Test contractor:
      Environmental Research Center
Results: A simultaneous analysis conducted for agricultural chemicals showed all items were below the detection limit (0.01 ppm).
    2. Confirmation in plant raw ingredients
      237 to 296 items
      Test conductor:
      Manufacturer
Results: An analysis conducted for agricultural chemicals showed all items were below the detection limit (0.01 ppm).
Note: Tests in (2) have been performed for every manufacturing lot.
  2. Acute toxicity test
Test method: Five male and five female rats were administered 2,000 mg/kg of AG Herb MIX in a single dose.
(167 times larger than the recommended daily dose for a human*)
    * Human weight 50 kg (exposure factor by the Ministry of the Environment)
Test results: When 2,000 mg/kg of AG Herb MIX was administered in a single dose, no animal showed abnormality or died during the observation period. Therefore, the LD50 value for the rat samples is considered to be larger than 2,000 mg/kg for both the male and female rats.
Test contractor: Japan Food Research Laboratories
  3. Genotoxicity test
Test method: Genetic damage test with the Bacillus subtilis rec-assay. Using Bacillus subtilis Marburg H17 (rec+) and M45 (rec-), the rec-assay of AG Herb MIX was performed with doses between 313 μg/disk and 10,000 μg/disk.
Test results: It was concluded that AG Herb MIX caused no DNA damage.
Test contractor: Japan Food Research Laboratories
  4. Excessive intake study in humans
Test method: Eight adult men ingested 3,000 mg of AG Herb MIX, an amount 5 times larger than the recommended daily intake, for 4 consecutive weeks. Interviews, measurements of body weight, pulse rate, blood pressure, and body fat, and urine and blood testing were performed every 2 weeks.
Test results: The safety assessment conducted by physicians resulted in no abnormal medical findings.
Test contractor: Ohbayashi Clinic (in-house test at ARKRAY)
